How to Use the Gold Currency Converter
Frequently Asked Questions
How do I convert the gold price into my currency?
Pick the karat and weight, then your currency — the value updates live. It takes the global spot price (USD per troy ounce), divides by 31.1035 for the per-gram price, applies the karat purity, then the live exchange rate. As of 6 Aug 2026, 01:14 GST, 1 gram of 24K gold is $136.54.
Is gold worth the same in every Gulf country?
Yes for the raw metal. Gold trades at one global spot price, and the AED, SAR, QAR, OMR and BHD are all pegged to the US dollar — so 24K gold is worth the same across the Gulf, differing only by the currency unit. Making charges and VAT vary by country; Egypt prices off the parallel goldsmith dollar.
What exchange rate does the converter use?
Live mid-market rates, with the gold spot price refreshed every 10 minutes. Egyptian pound values use the goldsmith (parallel) dollar so they match what Egypt’s gold market actually deals at.
Does the converted price include making charges?
No — it is the raw gold-content value only. A dealer’s price adds making charges, local VAT, and a buy/sell spread on top.
